Urban areas

Urban areas include our cities and towns as well as our villages. Among these urban areas there is great variety to be found. Unfortunately this variety has been of little concern from the 1950's onwards. Many urban developments and housing estates could be situated in any random village, town or city. Uniqueness and topical character must be reintroduced in parceling plans of both urban expansion sites and infill sites. Both demand a well thought trough parceling plan that is durable and remains functional.

A new (or renewed) neighbourhood or city quarter has to be - and stay - attractive to its inhabitants and users. Appropriate variation between public spaces, gardens and buildings, combined with a functional  design with sufficient parking and amenities, are the ingredients of a well appreciated urban environment with many discerning details.
