Public spaces

Public spaces belong to us all. That is why they deserve due attention. Public spaces such as parks, public gardens, squares and streets  are divers in both form and usage. Well designed public spaces are topical and specific. Functionality must be the first consideration, but always with beauty in mind. For this reason local residents and businesses should be consulted on their ambitions for their area.

Well appointed public spaces are the result of  an interactive process from the initial ideas, with design proposals and public participation towards final construction. Special attention should be paid to the possibly important  heritage value of city parks, waterways or (market)squares, not forgetting former religious sites, courtyards, alleyways and disused industrial sites and factories.
