Kalmthout [B] – 2013
The Kalmthout Arboretum is a world class botanic garden. After P15 had previously participated in an exhibition on Camelia, the garden curator asked for explanatory texts for the 2013 summer exhibition on Painted Nettle. The Painted Nettle (Coleus or Solonostemon) is a tender perennial with colourful leaves that originated in Indonesia, from where it was introduced into Europe by a Dutch horticulturist. Large banners put up at the exhibit, were aimed at explaining in understandable terms botanical traits, relationships with other plants, species and cultivars, propagation and care to the visiting public.
