Someren-Heikant – 2009-2011
As part of the regional improvement program known as Buitengebied in Ontwikkeling (Countryside in Development) two sites in the rural fringe of the town of Someren were redeveloped for housing. For the two sites, with abandoned chicken sheds and a greenhouse company, a modified zoning plan has been produced. The larger part of the combined 7.2 hectares (17.3 acres) was redesigned as pasture surrounded by wide hedgerows and as a nature preserve with a flower meadow, an elm copse and a pond for newts and frogs. The rest was utilised for new housing set in ample private gardens. P15 has advised the owner of both sites on rezoning, site layout, spatial quality and the planting of the landscaped sections.
